Ever since I was a child, I lived my life on 3 very simple principles: LEARN, EARN, RETURN. I have been fortunate enough to make more than I needed and so I felt it was my duty to pay it forward.

In 2010 I wanted to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro and so I approached several charities to fundraise for them only to be told that I needed to pay £3,000 as well as raise £3,000 in donations. When questioning how donations will be distributed I was shocked to hear that between 13% and 26% would be spent on “administration and operating costs”. This is no small amount when considering big charities with millions of pounds in yearly donations.

That is when I decided to set up a charity that will spend 100% of donations on projects that matter, on people that matter and on communities that need it most. At the same time, I promised to cover all “admin” costs personally.

13 years on, now made up of myself, my beautiful wife Tatiana, and many hardworking volunteers, Mehiel Foundation, a small charity with a simple mission, to tackle the underlying causes of poverty and social injustice in order to deliver lasting change in the lives of underprivileged and vulnerable people continues to empower grassroots communities in the world’s most disadvantaged places.

We do this year after year, focusing on 4 core objectives: POVERTY RELIEF through our food distribution program, SPORT, by organising annual football tournaments for underprivileged youth, CLEAN WATER & SANITATION by installing water pumps and biosand water filtering systems and EDUCATION by building, setting up and running schools.

Come join me on this journey, either as a sponsor or volunteer and let’s make the world a better place together.

P.S. If you’re wondering, I did climb Kilimanjaro, proposed to my wife on top of it and 100% of the money raised I personally took to an orphanage in Moshi, Tanzania.
